HearAndNow Collective

The HearAndNow Collective consists of young top musicians from the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States. The members have international careers, regularly perform as soloists or in chamber music ensembles and some of them also teach.

The ensemble was founded in 2022 in Amsterdam and grew together playing at many festivals and various concerts both nationally and internationally. They found their voice in exploring new music during the first edition of the HearAndNow Chamber Music Festival in 2023. This festival bridges the gap between classical music from then and now, in which work by one innovative composer from the tradition is heard in combination with freshly composed notes. In 2023, HearAndNow (with Emma Roijackers as artistic director) programmed around Béla Bartók, in 2024 Arnold Schönberg was central.

 

The collective performs in various formations such as string trio, string quartet, duo and quintet.
